In a Convex Mirror
New Album — Out December 5, 2025
"In a Convex Mirror" is a nearly hour-long improvised conversation constrained by conceptual frames, exploring and extending the inherent potential of each instrument. Using sonoristic techniques, a variety of articulation as well as the subtle company of unusual sound objects - all this conjures the spirit of Dadaism and electroacoustic abstraction.
The title draws inspiration from John Ashbery’s poem suggesting a contemplation of perception and reality. As Ashbery states, “The surface / Of the mirror being convex, / the distance increases / Significantly” Loom TM’s music distorts perspectives, provokes and invites individual interpretation..
The program was recorded in the Toy Piano Gallery exhibition in Wrocław. The band used an acoustic reverb generator - steel cello made by Paweł Romańczuk. The recordings and mix were made by Artur Majewski.
